Boys basketball skills evaluations will be Saturday October 14, 2017 at Bloom Carroll HIGH School.
We will hold evaluations for all athletes playing basketball. A group of coaches will assess each athlete’s skills and abilities in order to create teams. The goal is that each athlete plays at a level that improves their skills and challenges them. If you do NOT attend tryouts, you WILL be placed on a team. However, it is strongly recommended you attend for an even distribution of talent on the teams. If you miss tryouts for travel basketball then you will need to contact that respective coach for a tryout. IF YOU MISS TRYOUTS AND THE TRAVEL TEAM HAS ALREADY BEEN SELECTED THEN IT IS THE RIGHT OF THE COACH TO REFUSE TO EVALUATE THE PLAYER. Everyone should attend the appropriate grade level rec tryouts then stay for the travel tryouts if you want to be evaluated for travel.
Please come according to your appropriate grade and time!!
9am-10am 3rd/4th grade evaluations (ALL 3RD and 4TH GRADERS)
10am-11am 5th/6th grade evaluations (ALL 5TH and 6TH GRADERS)
11am-12pm 5th/6th grade travel basketball tryouts
MID STATE LEAGUE REC BALL (3rd - 6th GRADE)
Our goal is to have a strong recreation league with parents/coaches focused on player development. Games are typically on the weekends played against Fairfield Union, Liberty Union, Millersport and Berne Union rec associations. Our teams travel to their gyms for games and vice versa.
FISHER CATHOLIC LEAGUE (4th, 5th, and 6th GRADES)
This league also plays on weekends and is an option for teams that do NOT want to travel but seek a higher level of competition.
COBA TRAVEL TEAMS (4th, 5th and 6th GRADES)
We would like to see each grade level have a COBA travel team. All kids can try out for the COBA travel teams if they desire. COBA coaches make their own schedules in accordance with gym availability at Bloom Carroll High School. The COBA teams require a higher level of dedication by the coach--more practice and games. Typically the COBA coach will encourage summer camp involvement by his team. If interested in COBA please contact Sean Matheny. COBA teams are completely dependent upon interest by a coach dedicated to putting a team together. If a coach does not step forward then there will NOT be a travel team for that grade.
**We do not allow 2nd graders to play in the leagues. These leagues are strictly for 3rd, 4th, 5th, and 6th graders. Our league is restricted on gym space and time due to the current state of facilities!
