Information regarding BCYA baseball 2010

The BCYA board has unanimously approved our recreational baseball program to join the newly formed Mid Ohio Youth Baseball League (MOYBA) for the upcoming 2010 season. The communities that are currently members of the League are: Bloom Carroll, Sugar Grove, Lancaster Youth Baseball, Fisher Catholic/St. Mary’s Irish Baseball, and Fairfield Union Junior Falcon Baseball Association. Together these five communities have come together to promote a mutually beneficial and joint recreational baseball league for levels of coach pitch, minor, and major league. (The BCYA tball program will not have any changes in 2010)

Look for the games to begin the third week of May and wrap up around July 15th. All teams in the MOYBA will play approximately 14 games per season, with 7 home games and 7 away games. Expect to play 2 to 3 games per week with some games on Saturdays and/or Sunday afternoons. A season ending tournament for each level will be concluded before July 15th.

Signups for recreational baseball have begun on the website, with in person signups to be announced soon during the month of February. As with most inaugural seasons, mishaps will undoubtedly occur. But with a strong commitment from the parents and players, I am sure we will be able to overcome anything.

See you on the field!

Commissioners & Coaches

The grounds crews work very hard to have the diamonds ready to go for your games. It is absolutely essential to have good communications between the coaches and home diamond scheduler to maintain this endeavor. I need your help to keep the schedule updated and to keep the cost of the program down,
(umpire cancellation and diamond prep).

Please follow this procedure for canceling games at Roller, Bloom Elementary and Carroll.

If you or the team you are playing cancel your game, you must contact
Steve Meadow at steve@meadowscustomhomes.com  or 614-332-3339.

If contacting by phone, please leave a message on my voice mail.

To reschedule a game at Roller, Bloom Elementary or Carroll, please reference the website and find a diamond that is open. Verify with the other coach and then contact Steve Meadows to reserve the diamond. Doing so in a timely manner will assure a prepped diamond and official (if needed).

If you would like to schedule a practice, also contact Steve to schedule. Rescheduled games will take precedence over practices.

We appreciate your efforts in keeping the lines of communication open.

Thanks,
Steve Meadows
